July 2019

Even though it was rainy and dreary for most of the month, the students at Eagle worked really hard. As the rainy season ends the days will get hotter and hotter. In order to prevent heat stroke, we will not be going to the park much in August. Thank you for understanding.
Just like last year, the school festival was a huge success. Students made wind chimes and fans as well as worked hard to learn the dance for the festival. On the day of the festival the kids dressed in their cute yukatas and jinbeis, played games, and ate snacks inside the school. Then we all went to the park with parents to perform the dance and have a picnic. Just like last year, the kids enjoyed the festival so much that they said it was their favorite activity at Eagle!
Eagle will not have a summer break. Instead, students will spend the hot days trying their best to reach their goals!
In June, we had students pass the written portion of EIKEN 2 and 3, and in July they all passed the speaking portion of the test! Now they have all received their certificates as well! For our students, the speaking portion of the test was no problem! They all worked really hard to achieve these results!
In August summer school begins. We will be having our normal classes in addition to summer classes in the morning. We can’t wait to see how big our older students have gotten since graduating Eagle!
The themes for this month were space, picnics, vacations, food, and drinks. For food, students learned how to pronounce English loan words correctly in English like hamburgers, salads, omelets, French fries and others. Now if you ask your child what foods they like, they will be able to pronounce them properly.
Chris Sensei, our British teacher who joined Eagle starting in April, is very friendly towards the children and is very serious about teaching English. They students all love him and think he is a kind teacher. Our three native teachers all work very hard to create wonderful lessons for the students. They are the best team that Eagle has ever had!
